El Médano is the closest resort to Tenerife South Airport: 8 km, about 10 minutes, one junction east on the TF-1 and then the TF-64. That makes it the easiest pickup on the island. Parking is the opposite of the big resorts here, and it is free. There are open car parks by the football ground, behind Plaza Roja, at El Cabezo, at the far end of the promenade by Hotel Playa Sur, and a large one at La Tejita under Montaña Roja, which is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the sand through the nature reserve. In July and August arrive before 09:30 or come in the afternoon.
