Adeje is the old hill town above the resort strip, and it is not the same place as Costa Adeje down on the coast. Come off the TF-1 at exit 79 from the east or 81 from the west and climb into the village. It is around 25 minutes from Tenerife South Airport. The village streets are genuinely narrow, so a compact car is less stressful than a big SUV. Park near Casa Fuerte on Calle Tagoror, which is paid, limited and fills early, then it is an eight minute walk uphill along Calle de los Molinos to the trailhead. That trail is the Barranco del Infierno: 6.5 km there and back, about three and a half hours, helmets provided and no beach sandals. Numbers are capped at 300 a day and you must book online in advance.

For the village and its parking, cheap car rental in Tenerife is the sensible pick.
