Terms & Conditions of Car Rental in Spain
Rental Period and Rates
The minimum rental period is 24 hours. If you rent a car for fewer than 24 hours, you will be charged for a full day.
Example: Renting from Monday morning until Tuesday afternoon incurs a two-day charge.
To extend your rental period, you must notify the rental agent in advance.
Fuel Policy
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up.
If returned with less fuel, you will be charged for the difference at the rental company’s published rates.
No refund will be issued for returns with a higher fuel level.
Insurance and Liability
In the event of an incident covered by insurance, you must immediately notify the rental agent and obtain an incident report, unless otherwise agreed.
Failure to comply will void the insurance and render you fully liable for all damages.
Insurance does not cover deliberate damage caused by vandalism or neglect.
Usage Restrictions
Rental cars may only be driven on paved public roads.
Cross-border travel is strictly prohibited.
Contact Requirements
You must provide a reachable phone number (with correct country code) at booking and keep it active through the rental period, including the day before pick-up.
We cannot process any service-quality claims if we are unable to contact you via mobile phone or messaging apps (Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram).
Driver Requirements
Minimum driver age and driving-experience requirements are listed on each vehicle’s page and may vary by model.
The rental agent reserves the right to refuse service if the driver does not meet these requirements.
Deposit
If a credit-card deposit is required, it must be a named card in the main driver’s name.
If you opt to pay the deposit in cash or no deposit is required, the provider may request your credit-card details as a security guarantee against unforeseen costs or damages.
Pets
Only small pets are permitted and must be kept in an appropriate travel carrier at all times.
Cancellation & Modification
How to Cancel
Email help@carzrent.com with the subject “Cancel” and attach your booking confirmation voucher.
Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method (unless otherwise agreed) within 14 days of receiving your refund request.
Free Cancellation
Up to 7 days before the rental start date (or 30 days for luxury cars and convertibles).
Or up to 24 hours before if your booking includes the “Free cancellation” option.
Late Cancellation/Modification
Cancelling or modifying less than the above periods will result in forfeiture of your advance payment as compensation.
24-Hour Grace Period
Either party (you or the rental company) may cancel within 24 hours of booking confirmation and advance payment; in this case, the full advance will be refunded as described above.
Modifying a Booking
To change your reservation, cancel your original booking (subject to the above terms) and make a new one. Note that once cancelled, the vehicle becomes available to other clients.
