1. About CarzRent.com
CarzRent.com operates as an independent car rental broker, connecting customers with trusted local car rental companies and private owners across the Canary Islands and mainland Spain. CarzRent does not own vehicles. The rental contract is concluded between you and the local rental provider (“Rental Provider”). CarzRent facilitates bookings, transparent pricing, and communication.
2. Booking & Confirmation
2.1 Submitting a booking request is an offer to rent under these T&C.
2.2 A booking is confirmed only when you receive a Booking Confirmation (voucher) by email.
2.3 Models are subject to availability. If the booked model is unavailable, the Rental Provider will supply a same or higher category vehicle at no extra cost.
2.4 CarzRent may refuse, modify, or cancel bookings due to unavailability, system errors, or suspected fraud; any prepayment will be refunded.
3. Driver Requirements
- Minimum driver age: 23 years.
- Minimum driving experience: 2 years with a valid driver’s license.
The main driver must present a valid passport/ID, driver’s license (in Roman alphabet or with official translation), and the voucher. Additional drivers must be registered and approved before pick-up.
4. Rental Period & Return
- Minimum rental period: 24 hours.
- Late return may incur an additional day charge.
- Return the vehicle at the agreed location/time with the same fuel level (unless prepaid fuel applies).
- Early return does not guarantee a refund.
- Unapproved extensions/late returns may incur penalties and can void insurance.
5. Delivery & Collection
Delivery/collection may be available depending on the Rental Provider and location. Out-of-hours, airport, or hotel delivery may involve extra charges. Failure to appear at the agreed time/place may be treated as a no-show (see Section 14).
6. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are supplied with a specific fuel level, typically full. Return the vehicle with the same fuel level unless a prepaid fuel option applies. Missing fuel is charged at local rates plus a refuelling service fee.
7. Mileage
Unless stated otherwise, unlimited mileage applies. If a mileage cap is specified, excess kilometres may be charged.
8. Insurance & Coverage
All rentals include basic third-party liability insurance as required by Spanish law. Optional Full Coverage/CDW may be available.
Coverage is void if: the driver is under the influence of alcohol/drugs, the vehicle is used off-road, unauthorised persons drive, or damage arises from negligence/law violations.
Typical exclusions include: tyres/wheels, windscreen, mirrors, underbody, interior, lost keys/papers, misfuelling, and all fines/penalties.
In case of accident or theft: notify the provider and police immediately, obtain a police report where applicable, and cooperate fully. Failure to comply may void coverage.
9. Deposit & Payment
- A security deposit may be required by the Rental Provider at pick-up.
- The deposit can be paid by credit card or debit card in the main driver’s name with sufficient available balance.
- Cash deposits are generally not accepted unless explicitly agreed with the provider.
- The deposit is released after inspection if no damage, fines, or extra charges are found.
- Payment may be taken online at booking or upon pick-up, depending on provider policy.
- Unpaid fees, damages, fines, or missing fuel discovered after return may be charged to your card.
10. Use of Vehicle
Use the vehicle responsibly and in accordance with Spanish road laws. It is prohibited to drive under the influence, go off-road, race, tow, sublet, transport illegal goods, exceed passenger limits, or smoke inside the vehicle. You are responsible for any damage caused by improper use or violation of these Terms.
11. Fines & Penalties
You are responsible for traffic violations, parking tickets, tolls, and penalties during the rental. Post-rental fines may incur an administrative processing fee.
12. Vehicle Damage, Loss, or Theft
Report any damage, accident, or theft to the Rental Provider and police immediately. Liability may extend up to the excess or full repair cost if coverage is voided. Lost keys or documents will be charged at replacement cost.
13. Termination & Repossession
The Rental Provider may terminate the agreement immediately if these Terms are breached, the vehicle is used illegally/negligently, or payment is not made. The vehicle may be repossessed without notice; no refund is due in such cases.
14. Cancellations, Refunds & Modifications
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
- Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows may forfeit the prepayment.
- Modifications (time, location, duration) are subject to availability and price changes.
- If the provider cannot supply the confirmed vehicle, a same or higher class replacement will be provided or a full refund issued.
- Refunds (if applicable) are processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days.
15. Liability & Disclaimer
CarzRent acts solely as a broker between you and the Rental Provider and is not responsible for the quality, condition, or performance of vehicles supplied by third parties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarzRent is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
16. Personal Data & Privacy
CarzRent processes personal data in accordance with EU GDPR. Data is used for booking management, customer service, and legal compliance. See our Privacy Policy for details.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, unless otherwise mandated by consumer protection law.
18. Amendments
CarzRent may update these Terms at any time. The version published on our website at the time of booking applies to that reservation.
